Privacy Policy

Introduction
At WebzTools ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website at webztools.com (the "Site") and our online tools (the "Services").
How our tools handle your data
Most of our tools run entirely in your browser. When you use one of those, your files, images and text are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Each tool page states which category it falls into before you use it. A few of these local tools remember a small setting (for example, the Online Ruler's screen calibration) in your browser's local storage so it does not ask again next time. That setting stays on your device; it is never sent to us.
Two tools cannot work that way, and do send data off your device in order to function:
- Tweet to Image sends the post URL you paste to a server so the post's public details can be retrieved. If you type the content in manually instead, nothing is sent.
- YouTube Transcript sends the video URL you paste to a server, which uses a third-party transcript provider to retrieve the captions.
For those two tools, our own server code uses what you submit only to carry out your request and return the result; it does not save the URLs you paste. We cannot control how the third-party providers named above, or the platforms that host these functions, log or retain requests, so please do not use these two tools with material you are not comfortable transmitting. The other tools, including Background Remover, process everything locally in your browser using a machine-learning model that runs on your own device. Your images and files are never sent anywhere.
Only one of those two tools requires an account. Generating a Tweet to Image from a pasted post URL is free once per verified account, so the first time you do this we'll ask you to verify your email address by clicking a sign-in link we email you (no password is created or stored). Clicking that link stores your signed-in state in your browser's local storage, separate from the usage record described below, so the tool can recognise you as signed in across tabs and when you return to it, without asking you to click a new link each time. This creates an account through our authentication provider, Supabase, and a small usage record tied to that account (your account identifier, the tweet's numeric ID, and timestamps), so we can enforce the one-free-generation limit. We also keep a monthly attempt count tied to your account (the calendar month and a number, nothing else) to limit how many lookups one account can attempt in a month. Neither record includes the tweet's text, its URL, or any other personal data. Typing tweet content in manually, and using YouTube Transcript, never require an account. If you share a device or browser with someone else, a "Use another email" option next to the tool lets you sign out of that browser and verify a different account. To limit repeated authentication-email requests, we also keep minimal one-way identifiers derived from the submitted email address and network address in short hourly rate-limit buckets, together with a request count. Old buckets are removed during later authentication-gate traffic. The raw email address and raw network address are not stored in that rate-limit record; Supabase Auth separately processes and stores the authentication email as described above.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. This may include your approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type, the pages you visit and how long you spend on them. Google Analytics sets cookies or reads similar identifiers to do this.
You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, with a content blocker such as uBlock Origin, or by declining analytics where a consent choice is offered to you.
Advertising
WebzTools uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies, and may process information, in order to serve and measure ads.
Where consent is required for this (including for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), it is requested through a consent message provided by Google before non-essential cookies are set or that processing takes place, and you can change your choice at any time. The options you are shown, and whether a choice is presented at all, depend on your region and on applicable law.
You can review and adjust the ads Google shows you through My Ad Center. See the "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" page and the Google Privacy Policy for details of how Google uses that data.
Buy Me a Coffee support widget
Most pages on the Site show a small floating button, provided by Buy Me a Coffee, that opens their support page if you choose to use it. Loading this button means your browser makes a request to Buy Me a Coffee's own script; interacting with it (for example, opening it or choosing to support us) takes place on Buy Me a Coffee's service, under their own terms and privacy policy. We do not send Buy Me a Coffee any image, file or text you process with our tools — that data never leaves your browser for the tools that run locally, and for the two tools described above, it only ever goes to the server described there. This page, along with our Terms of Service, About and Contact pages, does not load that widget.
How we use information
The analytics data we collect is used only to:
- Improve our Services and user experience
- Understand which tools are most popular
- Fix bugs and technical issues
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content you put into the tools to build a profile of you.
Managing your privacy choices
You can, at any time:
- Clear or block cookies in your browser settings
- Clear any locally saved tool setting (such as the Online Ruler's calibration) from your browser's local storage, the same way you would clear site data for any other website
- Change any consent choice you were offered, using the same consent message when it is available to you
- Opt out of Google Analytics as described above
- Use a content blocker to prevent third-party advertising and analytics
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under local data protection law, such as the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
This privacy policy page itself is served without Google Analytics or advertising tags, and without the Buy Me a Coffee widget described above.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
